Seeking Driven and Innovative Remote Financial Counselor/CollectorWe are seeking an experienced and motivated candidate to join our fast growing company in a new role as Financial Counselor/Collector which is responsible for coordinating with patient/client and or family regarding financial responsibility, pay to client claims and or insurance paid to patient checks from the insurer on the individual patient account.

The role of financial counselor serves to help patients, especially those who are uninsured, underinsured, and have low incomes, assess and determine a plan for resolution of their financial responsibilities it includes establishing payment plans and other financial arrangements.

Also, is responsible for calculating and collecting the patients’ estimated balances at pre-service or at the point of service while understanding and staying in line with the NBH financial and discounting policies while possessing the ability to use critical thinking skills to provide the best resolution based upon the patient’s situation.Responsibilities:Plans, organizes, patient financial services, and the billing and collection of patient accountsDirects the adjustment, extended payment agreements, and implementation and settlement of accounts; directs and oversees for the appropriate transfer of uncollectible patient accounts to central collectionsMaintains and coordinates activities with Accounting and Utilizations Review DepartmentEnsure patient demographic information is accurate and funding source is billed and collected appropriately, accurately and timelyExplains insurance benefits and collects co-pays, deductibles and self-pay portions dueCollects for related professional care when appropriateExplains account to patient or guarantor and make all necessary efforts to collect payment.

Provides follow-up of accounts until they are resolvedSets up outstanding accounts on payment plansFollows Patient Financial Services policies including completion of Guarantor Financial Statement Application, explanation of payment options and collections of monies due.Documents actions taken and answers inquiries involving individual accounts and researches problem accounts to assure resolution for payment.Act as an ongoing knowledge source and lead for staff when they have questions regarding patient accounts.

(Training background preferred)Consistently meets Quality Assurance standards set by Patient Access and the department.

Meets departmental goals regarding collections, productivity and customer serviceRecommend policy and procedural changes to upper management for review as needed and assists with rolling out procedural changes to the staff.Interact professionally and effectively with patients, family members, physicians and other personnel in a fast-paced environment.Develops and implements operating procedures to improve the operation of the unitsPerforms other duties as assigned.Qualifications:2+ years’ experience Patient Accounts/Health Insurance background or equivalentAssociate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferredSkilled at reading and providing detailed explanation of benefits and insuranceSkilled at professionally collecting payments on Client accountsManagement experience a plusLocation: This is a remote position with a preference to candidates residing in South FL; this role cannot be performed in Colorado.We offer a challenging and rewarding work environment, growth opportunities, competitive compensation, and a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement, employee discounts, and more exciting benefits!About the company: We are a passionate, result-driven behavioral health group with programs that specializes in adults and adolescents who suffer from addiction.
