Florida Medical Clinic, LLCJob DescriptionJob Title: Registered Nurse FloatJob Summary: Provides infusion services to patients in an outpatient setting.This position will be a PRN Float for our Infusion office and our Ambulatory Surgery Centers in Tampa and Zephyrhills.

Minimum of 2 years experience preferred.Essential Functions of the Position:Performs administrative functionsEnsures all policies and procedures are in place and followedReviews all forms and consents for the department on a regular basis to make certain they are current and comprehensiveCreates consents for newly offered treatments when necessaryPrepares patients and supplies before treatmentsObtains informed consents as indicatedInstructs individual patients and family on follow-up care, toxicity and side effects of infusion therapy Performs assessment and triage of patient calls: evaluates symptoms, and determines essential care requiredEnsures verification of benefits has been obtainedDetermines how the drug should be supplied and ensures the patient’s specialty pharmacy has supplied the medications if appropriateDocuments patient information in a concise, clear and thorough mannerClinical SkillsPerforms complex nursing procedures and prescribed medical treatmentsDemonstrate knowledge of aseptic technique and practicePerforms intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular and intravenous injections to include administration of diagnostic agents and medicationsPerform venous, capillary procedures and access indwelling catheters for blood withdrawalAdminister medication in a safe and knowledgeable manner following established clinic policies and within the scope of licensure Validates infusion doses for accuracy, verification of “5 Rights”Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge, skill and judgment of medications administered following clinic and manufacturer’s protocols for administration.

Identifies physical symptoms and changes and takes appropriate action in a timely mannerInforms physician of any changes to patient’s condition during the infusion process and documents appropriately.

Completes end of treatment processesSchedules an appointment for the patient’s next treatmentAnswers any questions the patient may have related to their treatmentEvaluates the patient before allowing them to leaveManages and Maintains Medical Supplies, Equipment and Drug InventoryOrder and maintain drug inventory and medical suppliesMaintains medical equipment; ensures all equipment is calibrated, cleaned, sterilized and charged Empties red bags, replaces sharp containers, ensure all OSHA policies and procedures are followedGenerates charges by entering procedures performed for billing in IEHR.
