Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Mid-Level Avionics Ground Systems and Integration Software Engineer that contributes to the development of Ground System test software in Huntsville, AL .

Bring your initiative and creativity to the SLS Avionics Ground Systems and Integration team.

Be a part of building the World’s Largest and most powerful rocket for low earth orbit, the moon and Mars In this role, you will be supporting the critical technical software development activities to ensure the product fabricate meets the needs for integration and flight readiness.

You will have the opportunity to diversify your skills while working within the multiple Ground System Software products.

Position Responsibilities: Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.

Shall contribute to the development and update of: Vehicles Software Support products and/or Electrical Ground System Equipment Software products and/or The Avionics Integration Lab with Lab view simulations and the integration of the Models and Simulation of the Avionics HW and Propulsion systems.

Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.

Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met; includes Nominal and Off-Nominal testing assessments Performs software project management and software supplier management functions.

Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics.

Executes and documents software research and development projects.

Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.

Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.

Works under general direction.

C++ code writing, unit testing, integration and deployment Use of Code configuration management tools (Jenkins or Subversion or GitLab product, etc.), working in a development team environment (checking in code daily and auto building and auto testing nightly) Software Requirements derivation Design of code implementation to requirements Software Lifecycle and common Aerospace documentation experience.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.

§ 120.15 is required.

“US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, related discipline or equivalent work experience 5 years’ experience developing and debugging software using high level programming languages (C, C++) 3 years’ experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo Experience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologies 1 years’ experience using or applying metrics to measure performance against projects Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Use of IDE Eclipse Use of Jenkins or Jara Use of Parasoft DTP Use of Sherlock and Python Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g.

Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.

PhD, Master3 years’ related work experience).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation: This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.

Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
