is looking for a Network Engineer to take a key role in the design and implementation of the next phase of our network expansion.

The ideal candidate would have 5-10 years of experience working in a wide variety of networks with a focus on Internet connectivity and hosting.

Team Cymru runs a large, multi-national data backbone with presence in public and private peering communities around the world.

We are platform and vendor agnostic and strongly believe in using the right technology and tools to accomplish our mission.

Candidates will be expected to take on the following tasks:
– Participate in a team environment to develop and deploy innovative solutions to complex Internet hosting and data transport problems
– Meet with both internal and external customers to determine technical needs and develop network strategies to meet those needs
– Support, expand and maintain Team Cymru’s internal and Internet-facing networks, including setting up and maintaining Internet peering relationships with external networks
– Put together plans for deployment of new PoP (point-of-presence) locations from inception to implementation
– Troubleshoot and correct network issues, participate in root problem determination and formulate plans to prevent repeat occurrences
– Manage and expand Team Cymru’s presence at Internet Exchange (IX) facilities On-call and off-hours support will be required as part of this position.

Minimum Requirements
– 5-10 years experience in network engineering
– Experience in building and maintaining IPv4 and IPv6 networks
– Experience with BGP and Internet peering
– Familiarity with Internet Security and DDoS Detection/Mitigation Strategies
– Experience with Juniper hardware (Cisco experience a plus)
– Familiarity with Firewalls including Juniper SRX and Cisco ASA
– Experience with Network monitoring and troubleshooting
– Geek-level understanding of core network services such as

– Strong documentation and communication skills
