Description:This is a Systems/Software Quality Engineering position supporting the LM Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) F-35 Training and Logistics Systems (TS) Sustainment Program at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. The position will be the primary interface with the F-35 Training Systems Support Center (TSSC) Program Manager and Training Systems Sustainment Quality Program Manager (QPM) on Systems/Software Quality Engineering work tasks/priorities. This position will functionally report to the F-35 Training and Logistics Market Segment Quality Manager. The individual in this position will need to learn/understand F-35 TS products, System/Software work scope, technical requirements, program risks, proposal support, customer interactions, Systems/Software Quality Engineering leadership, and deliver per schedule milestones. The F-35 Delivery & Sustainment Quality Representative’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Systems/Software Quality Engineering Lead for all tasks and activities, generate and manage schedules that ensure coverage of all F-35 quality activities on site.
• Main point of contact for customer, program office, and DCMA activities and requests.
• Coordinate team efforts for all TSSC QA activity at multiple sites.
• Support Global Mobile Training Team (GMTT) efforts, including possible travel, to work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and ensure appropriate QA training is delivered and provided to new domestic and international customer Quality Analysts at Level 2 TSSCs.
• Provide inputs to the TSSC Lead to ensure sound labor estimates on Engineering Change Proposals and on-going proposal efforts.
• Participate in and support the F-35 TS change control process boards.
• Witness F-35 TS integration and test activities and formal quality testing.
• Support security/information assurance activities.
• Participate/interface with the engineering counterparts on program activities to assure processes and products are compliant to contractual requirements.
• Identify root causes and associated corrective actions, evaluate process/product performance, perform audits.
• Ability to evaluate data and provide solutions to systemic issues and trends.
• Perform Earned Value practices on assigned budget to support cost account manager. This position may require some domestic and international travel.
Basic Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Science or a related discipline, or any other degree with comparable Quality experience. 2. Experience in one or more of the following areas: statistical analysis, statistical process control, sampling, six sigma or root cause analysis. 3. Experience with details of individual aspects of the software lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Coding, Unit Testing, Formal Testing, Integration & Testing, Release, Configuration Management, Problem Resolution).
4. Experience performing data analytics (e.g. statistical analysis and/or metrics). 5. Ability to lead across a variety of QA responsibilities and tasks on development and/or sustainment programs. 6. AS9100 knowledge, CMMI knowledge. 7. Proven audit experience.
8. Use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). 9. Familiarity with System & Software Engineering requirements, design, integration and test. 10. Extensive understanding of software dependencies, development lifecycles, process flow and development methodologies.
Desired Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of quality engineering experience. DoD contract experience. Knowledge of LM RMS processes and procedures. Lean/Six Sigma black (or green) belt. Knowledge of software development lifecycles such as Agile Development. Knowledge of C/C++, C#, Java and Scripting Languages. Internal Process Auditing Experience. Systems and Hardware Engineering a plus.
Secret clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years is preferred with the ability to obtain F-35 Program Access.
