Field Technician

Kforce Technology

This is a Contract position in Spring Hill, FL posted February 18, 2021.


Kforce has a client seeking a Field Technician in the Spring Hill, FL area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Installs equipment including but not limited to cameras, detectors, controller cabinets
  • Installs electrical conductor, data conductor, fiber optic cable, pull boxes, conduit, poles and foundations
  • Connects electrical conductors to power services to energize equipment
  • Tests devices to ensure they work correctly
  • Prepares and completes reports, logs and performs shift-to-shift communications in accordance with established policies, procedures and local practices
  • Responds to corrective maintenance requests or alarms within an acceptable time frame
  • Diagnoses and repairs hardware, software, and system issues
  • Reports the technical status of the system with accuracy and completeness
  • Restores equipment to operational status as quickly as possible
  • Module or PC Board swap out
  • Isolation of faults in units or components
  • Field test of units or components; tests devices to ensure they work correctly
  • Maintenance of spare equipment and parts following established procedures

Job Requirements:


  • High School diploma or GED / equivalent; One year certificate from college or technical school preferred
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 – 4 years of related experience
  • Must obtain a CDL Class B within six months of starting employment
  • Through knowledge of current desktop technologies and communications software, including windows 2000, XP, serial communications, and TCP/IP concept
  • Knowledge with requesting and performing utility Locates

AC / DC Electricity experience

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice
