Citi: Ecdo Risk And Control Data Challenge Specialist


This is a Full-time position in St Petersburg, FL posted September 30, 2021.

The ECDO Challenge Specialist will be part of the Enterprise Chief Data Office (ECDO) Transformation initiatives representing the bank’s top priorities globally at an enterprise wide level.

This includes Citi’s Data Governance Plan, which is being developed to bring the bank forward per the direction set in Citi’s Enterprise Data Strategy.

The ECDO will be delivering against the commitments outlined in the Data Governance Plan and includes plans for a robust first line review process to ensure the Plan demonstrates effective self-assessments and introspective challenge of the Program to drive continuous improvement.

ResponsibilitiesImplement an independent assurance framework and function that will provide first line of defense self-assessment of the Data Governance Plan and contribute findings to the continuous improvement commitment of the ProgramUnderstand the various initiatives of the Data Governance Plan and related commitments and their relationshipsDevelop a playbook that outlines best practices for review and credible challenge of DGP commitments and ensure standards are metCollaborate with DGP Initiative leads, Issue owners and other stakeholders to develop and refine requirements for appropriate metricsBuild strong relationships with key stakeholders including data domain leads, governance/policy owners, and program leads for intersecting work effortsExecute against multiple contending priorities simultaneouslyWork with stakeholders to drive challenges to ensure strategic deliveries meet the letter and spirit of management, regulator, or IA concernsEnsure risks and issues are raised in a timely manner and in accordance with Citi policyCoordinate self-assessment and credible challenge activities with interdependent initiatives and second and third line of defense.Ensure all programs understand regulatory feedback and expectations, underlying concerns, and their root causes to make sure their commitments are completeProvide review and challenge of each program’s defined scope, target state, and success criteria to ensure it fully addresses the letter and the spirit of the regulatory feedback, broader supervisory expectations and underlying issues and root causesIdentify related and interdependent program elements and provide feedback and input to ensure consistency of review and challenge implementation according to developed guidelines QualificationsExperience with data management, data governance, data quality or related initiativesExperience with complex, multi-year, regulatory commitments, within the data management space preferredAbility to multi-task and to quickly acquire and comprehend the required knowledgeIndependent self-starter, with intellectual curiosity and bias for actionLogical critical thinker, with ability to see the big pictureAttention to detail, reads the “fine print”Excellent influencing, facilitation and partnering skillsExcellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communications skills presenting, writing, editingComfortable working in high pressure, fast paced environment, and managing multiple competing and shifting prioritiesHigh level of diplomacyEase interfacing and engaging with stakeholder at all levels (analyst through Managing Director)Ability to inspire trust, promote collaboration and motivate actionStrives for continuous improvement Knowledge / Experience:7-10+ years of experiencePrevious audit experience in a financial services organization and understanding of capital markets preferredUnderstanding of the regulatory environment within which Citi operatesKnowledge of data management, data governance, data quality or related data concepts (DAMA, DMBOK) preferredFamiliarity with BCBS 239, Regulation YY and Heightened Standards highly desirable Job Family Group:Project and Program Management-Job Family:Program Management-Time Type:Full time-Citi is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
