We are looking for a Facilities Engineer supporting Lockheed Martin operations in a production environment at the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This individual will be responsible for leading and/or overseeing/directing in-house personnel that will perform the maintenance and repair of facility environmental test equipment, fluids & gas mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE) carts and special tooling for the Orion Program at KSC. Responsibilities will also include working extensively in SAP software to ensure service orders, production orders, work orders, maintenance notes that capture problems or corrective action, and strategies are developed, released, dispositioned and closed. Individual will also be required to develop cost estimates, manage the technical, budgetary and schedule performance of facilities projects (such as bringing on-line several NEW fluids & gas MGSE carts, Proof Pressure Cell, Cleanroom, etc.), generate electronic material requests and track material receipts.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience operating, maintaining and repairing environmental test equipment.
• Experience managing maintenance of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment such as fluids & gas carts/interfaces or hypergol systems.
• Experience managing the technical, budgetary and schedule performance of large scale projects.
• Experience with documenting and disposition of failed or non-conformance equipment.
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with Production stakeholder.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows products including Power Point, Excel and Microsoft Word. • Experience working independently with minimal supervision. • Must be able to navigate around equipment and facilities infrastructure aligning to the roles and responsibilities of this position, including climbing stairs, ladders, etc. in order to access the various areas/tooling/equipment required. • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and weekends / off shifts.
• Ability and willingness to obtain Ground Processing Equipment Controller (GPEC) certification (Training and data base access within 90 days).
Desired Skills:
• PMI certification.
• SAP knowledge.
• Instrumentation and controls background. • Familiarity with NASA KSC Operations and Checkout Building is preferred. • Hold or obtain a current EPA 608 Universal Certification within 6 months; required to pass an EPA-approved test to earn Section 608 Technician Certification to become certified to purchase and handle refrigerants.
