Family Finding Coordinator

This is a Full-time position in Largo, FL posted July 6, 2021.

Position Concept This position is responsible supporting Family Finding team to locate and engage relatives.

The position will use available search methods to locate relative, non-relative and other supports for children in Out of Home Care (OHC) and assist Family Finding Specialist in tracking data.

Essential Functions
Responsible to provide direct support to Family Finding Team related to locating relatives, non-relatives and other supports.

Use web based search engines to identify possible relatives, non-relatives and other supports for children in Out of Home Care.

Documents activities in FSFN.

Maintains data reports for Family Finding Team as needed.

Assists in training, mentoring, and coaching of staff on search techniques related to Family Finding.

Other Duties Include, But Not Limited To
Participate in training and development activities as required.

Report any acts, incidents or conditions that reflect the possibility of inappropriate youth-to-youth or staff-to-youth relationships.

Report any use of physical force and all unusual incidents per Eckerd policy and state guidelines.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Specifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field required.

Experience: One year of experience in child welfare required.

Skills: Experience with customer service and multi-task office setting.

Have administrative abilities and be detail oriented.

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.

Ability to work independently and utilize initiative, ability to meet deadlines.

Physical Demands: Ability to sit at desk for long periods of time, and tolerate extended periods of data entry.

Must be free of communicable diseases as required by the state and to the extent that knowledge is attainable under the law.

Other: Maintain an appropriate and valid state driver’s license.

Must meet state criminal background check requirements.
