This is a Contract position in The Villages, FL posted October 6, 2021.

This position is located in San Diego, CA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Spot lens to check power and prism.

Inspect and pad block on lens using blocking machine.

Operate edging machines that are used to edge lens to proper size for frame requirements.

Use buffer to polish edges of lenses for cosmetic purposes.

Using a lensometer, checking lens attributes against established standards.

Verifying lens treatment and proper frame alignment against the RX.

May assist customers via telephone by answering technical questions, resolving problems and/or issues relating to job orders, track jobs, find information for Rx’s in process, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience: None required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be able to read prescriptions.

Able and willing to work as a team.

Able to read and write English Language well.

Have good eyesight, hand/eye coordination, manual dexterity, attention to detail and patience; Work without supervision.

Must be available to work Overtime and Saturdays when needed.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Safety Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Basic understanding of the Injury and Illness Prevention Program and the Hazard Communication Program.

Closed toe shoe with heel support.

Attendance/Punctuality: Is consistently at work and on time.

Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.

Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
