Maxim Healthcare Staffing is seeking a PediatricRegistered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse to assume the responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and delivery of patient care in a pediatric setting. In pediatric settings, RN/LPNs care specifically for children and adolescents.

Responsibilities:

  • Takesandrecordsvitalsignsofpediatricpatients
  • Preparesandgivesinjectionsandenemas; monitorscatheters
  • Assists patientswithbathing,dressing,andotherpersonal hygiene
  • Oneononepositionwithspecialneedspediatricpatientinaclassroom/facility setting.MayrequireworkingwithTracheotomy and/orG-tube
  • Utilizes the nursingprocesstoassess,plan,implement,andevaluatepatientcare
  • Assessessignsandsymptomsindicatingphysiologicandpsychosocialchangesinthepatientscondition
  • Collects,analyzesandinterpretsdataandinformationfromhealthcare members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses.
  • Plansforexpectedoutcomesofcareforthosepatientsassigned
  • Performs interventionsaccordingtopriorities,planofcare,andthehospitalpoliciesand patient care outcome standard
  • Providesasafe,comfortableandtherapeuticpatientenvironment
  • Usesclinicaljudgmentinevaluatingactivitiestomeetpatientcareneedsof an assigned unit/floor including establishing priorities
  • Monitorsthesafetyandeffectivenessofthe environmentandequipment
  • Promotesinterpersonalrelationswithpatient/family/significantothers; hospitalhealthcareco-workers; and physicians
  • Useseffective communicationskillswithallcontactswhilebeingobjective andsensitive
  • Communicates pertinentinformationaboutpatient,nursingunit,andactivitiesasappropriate
  • Performsotherdutiesasassigned/necessary

Qualifications:

  • Currentnursinglicensewithinthestateofassignment
  • Minimumofoneyearmaternalchildhealthacuteclinicalexperience withinthelastthreeyearspreferred
  • CurrentBLSCard
  • CurrentPALSCard(perclientand/orstate requirements)
  • CurrentPPDorChestX-Ray
  • Knowledgeinpediatricpharmacology
  • Abilitytoeffectivelyelicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisor, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required
  • Computerproficiencyrequired
  • Mustbeatleast18yearsofage
