This position serves as a liaison to the Operational Sites, Physician Business Development Team, the Call Center, Managed Care Team, & Physician’s offices.

The Outpatient Auth Coordinator will ‘bridge’ BH outpatient, imaging customers & the Imaging Access Call Center to ensure thorough & consistent communication of new services & protocols.

This position demonstrates exemplary teamwork, service, & overall knowledge of BHSF revenue cycle.

The ability to work within a high-pace, high volume environment is required.

This position requires an aptitude for multi-tasking.

Interacts & works cooperatively with PBD, Scheduling Team, Pre-Registration Team, Operations & Managed Care.

Position requires extensive knowledge in all outpatient diagnostic exams, especially in high-end modality(s) requiring authorizations as well CPT & ICD9 codes.

Ability to demonstrate the highest levels of customer service with physician practices and patients in order to exceed physician & patient satisfaction goals.

Good communication skills.

Inform patients of coverage limitations & financial responsibility for prescribed tests.

Also responsible for site visits to the referring Physician offices to speak about our services.

Must provide presentation at various leadership meetings on the challenges facing us in our market place.Qualifications:Degrees:.

High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper.

Additional Qualifications:.

At least one year with registration experience and working with insurance companies in obtaining authorizations.

Knowledge of insurance contracts, collections, and authorizations.

Experience in Microsoft Office Products.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work in high-volume, fast
– paced work environment.

Must demonstrate critical thinking and multi-tasking skills.

Knowledge of Health Care regulatory guidelines to include but not limited to HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, etc.

Extensive knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred..
