Sr Desktop Services Engineer

This is a Contract position in Coral Gables, FL posted April 22, 2021.

The Sr. Desktop Services Engineer (DSE) will be responsible for software distribution and patch management as well as building and deploying software packages to workstations (endpoints). Sr. Desktop Services Engineer will provide Windows Desktop application deployment solutions and support in a large environment by Administrating Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or equivalent. DSE will be required to engineer solutions for endpoint management and standardization while administrating the system that do so.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administration of SCCM include

o Creating and managing Endpoint Boundary Groups across one or more Distribution Points.

o Managing custom SCCM Security roles and permissions.

o General monitoring of site health via SSRS, log files, and the SCCM console.

o In-Console Upgrades and Client Agent Upgrades

o Manage and configure User and Device collections Creating query-based collections

o Configuring Site Collection Maintenance Windows Configuring Power Management Rules

  • Deploying Operating System Images (primarily Windows 10) via SCCM OSD. This includes:

o Configuring WDS, configuring PXE, configuring the VM build environment, and integrating with MDT

o Build / Capture / Update Windows 10 images

o Manage images (updating of Drivers, etc.)

o Creating Distribution Points and distributing the images accordingly

o Creating a deployment Task Sequence and deploying the Task Sequence

o Creating Packages for Operating System Deployments.

o Deployment of Applications and Software Updates including:

o Creating and deploying applications with user device affinity, compliance settings,

o Software Center and task sequencing via Deployment software packages and reporting on the success or failure of Application deployments

o Deploy Client Management agents and manage clients using Group Policy, WSUS, logon scripts, Client Push, etc.

o Create, modify, and produce custom reporting as needed

  • Use of advance Excel Data functions such as: Pivot Tables VLOOKUP and table Union.
  • Able to learn or use Power BI and SqlSQL SSMS Queries for reporting
  • Administration of all endpoint software consoles and licensing
  • Understanding in Data analysis and reporting in Excel and SCCM reporting.
  • Create custom Batch or PowerShell scripts to support endpoint development
  • Create users and technical guides to facilitate day to day
  • Selecting standards for Hardware for all Endpoints
  • Engineer new creative automated solutions to better improve Desktop teams’ efficiency optimization
  • Engineer Configure, update and upgrade the company’s image
  • Problem Management of outstanding issues with endpoints.
  • Automate application deployment and solutions
  • Work with other IT teams to deliver new products to the endpoints.
  • Sense of urgency in customer service, able wiliness to learn new technology.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in endpoint engineering, deployment and troubleshooting
  • Knowledgeable in SCCM Administration and Server deployment
  • Endpoint Patch and Management using Windows update Server
  • Knowledge in Endpoint architecture and Image Development
  • Must be familiar with basic technology systems and processes
  • Must have knowledge of the following IT equipment and systems: desktops; laptops; NICs; TCI/IP; client applications; web applications; Citrix; Windows 7/Windows 10; Office 2007/2010/2013/2016; Outlook; Software tokens; encryption software; VPN/remote access systems; remote control systems (Goverlan, LogMeIn); Active Directory; installation, configuration, and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking, and accessory equipment; use of command prompt/power shell with to troubleshoot network issues; IP phone connectivity and troubleshooting; SUS, WSUS, Service Now SCCM Administration, PC imaging applications; and basic corporate image desktop applications.
  • Must be familiar with troubleshooting and maintaining printers, copiers, and digital senders.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of service desk ticketing systems. Experience in ServiceNow is a plus.
  • Must be able to create window OS images to adhere to company standard for deployment.
  • Must possess strong customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to self-direct as needed. Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and remain flexible to shifting priorities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School graduate required. A+ Certification preferred. BA/BS or higher preferred. ITIL Foundations Certification preferred. SCCM Administration preferred
  • 5+ years Desktop Engineering within an enterprise environment
