Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Ultrasound Tech you will perform duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures using Ultrasound for the purpose of detecting pathology. You will regulate the equipment used to produce the ultrasound and send images to PACS and also assist in the daily operation of the Ultrasound Department.

Tasks and responsibilities, you will:

• Performs diagnostic procedures applying prescribed methods of ultrasound technique.
• Produces diagnostic images using Doppler, abdominal or pregnancy ultrasound.
• Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to organ to be examined, depth of field and other specifications of test
• Assists physician with ultrasound guided biopsies and/or invasive procedures.
• Maintains and calibrates equipment.
• Assists with transporting patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Successful completion of a vocational program from a school of Ultrasound 
• Registered and certified with the A.R.D.M.S. required. 
• Must be registered in either OB or Abdomen. 
• Must also be registered in Vascular (RVT). 
• Registered with ARDMS in Breast or must obtain within one year hire/transfer 
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 
• Ability to perform all sonographic procedures according to established guidelines utilizing appropriate equipment
