* DutiesHelpDutiesSummaryThis position is located in the Office of Maritime and Intermodal Outreach to design, develop and lead projects to improve economic competitiveness, enhance the state of good repair for the Marine Transportation System and its infrastructure, improve the quality of life in communities within proximity to ports, address environmental sustainability and safety, and augment security and preparedness goals.Learn more about this agencyResponsibilitiesAt the full performance level, the Transportation Industry Analyst:* Provides a variety of technical support functions in order to build a platform for data and analytics that facilitates more effective and efficient operations of the Office of Maritime and Intermodal Outreach (MAR 550).* Supports the Office of Port Infrastructure Development with discretionary grant program implementation issues including program planning, promotion of funding opportunity awareness, support for the application review process, and analysis of program metrics.* Uses professional knowledge, statistical analysis of historical data, and budgetary techniques to monitor organization functions and the ability to meet goals and standards.* Works with the regional Gateway Directors to compile databases and reports pertaining to the Offices of: Marine Highways & Passenger Services, Port & Waterways Planning, Infrastructure Development & Congestion Mitigation, and Deepwater Ports & Offshore Activities.* Assists in the planning, management and coordination of the Office of Maritime & Intermodal Outreach operations and travel budgets and the development and adherence to the respective operations and travel budget processes and procedures.* Provides a variety of technical support functions in order to build a platform for data and analytics that facilitates more effective and efficient operations of both the Office of Maritime and Intermodal Outreach (MAR 550) and the Port Infrastructure Development Program
– (MAR 510).The ideal candidate must be able to perform high level assignments, gathering data and facts, preparing guidance, policies and directions, provide routine updates on progress of critical projects, and apply qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze and measure effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of the office programs, as well as develop recommendations for improvement.Travel RequiredOccasional travel

degree or Ph.D.

or equivalent doctoral degree.* You can also qualify based on a combination of higher level graduate education and experience.
