Director of FP&A


This is a Full-time position in Miami, FL posted September 8, 2021.

We are looking to add a key member to the Finance team to support financial planning, strategic financial analyses, business modeling, forecasting, and management reporting activities with the corporate controller and the business (budget owners).

This role works cross-functionally with several departments within the company.

This is a full-time position reporting to the CFO.

This is a fully remote role with the option to work out of our Headquarters in San Francisco.

Responsibilities: Point of contact between Finance and the business on expense and investment activities Proactively and regularly report spending variances against the plan to ensure Management has real-time data on how the company is performing against the plan Lead the development of monthly and quarterly forecasts against budget (and prior plans) Develop and actively maintain reporting packages to share with department heads to ensure they understand their spending activities and keep the business on track to achieve financial targets Partner with Controller to develop and update client-level P&Ls to provide visibility on profitability by customer, vertical, and other segmentation categories.

Actively provide recommendations to Management on areas of opportunity and risks Own the maintenance and data integrity of Mursion’s FP&A system, and partner with key business leaders to find secure and automated solutions to aggregate other business intelligence metrics into our financial reporting system Continue to develop and implement new and innovative ways to process, report, and forecast Mursion’s financials, leveraging other internal systems (CRM, Portal, Quickbooks, SaaSOptics) Partner with the CFO to run the annual expense budget process and long-term expense models, and develop a strategy to keep Mursion on track to achieve long-term profitable growth targets Lead the development of new operating and strategic business models to aid in Mursion’s expansion into new lines of business or markets Contribute and Assist: Assist on initiatives focused on growth, scalability, and predictability in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Client Experience, Operations, and Finance.

Partner with the Accounting team to ensure complete visibility of expenditures, accruals, and financing activities.

Maintain critical and ongoing collaboration to ensure visibility into cash outflows Assist in the development of databases and reports based on standard operating processes.

Assist in the development of board and investor presentations to report financial and operating metrics, and tell the story of Mursion’s growth potential Partner with CFO to review contracts for prospective vendors and contractors to ensure Mursion operates in a compliant manner and receives favorable terms Other FP&A Involvement: Support or lead ad hoc projects, as requested.

Create analyses, commentary, and presentation materials as needed.

Support the monthly accounting close process as needed.

Collaborate with the broader Finance and Accounting team to achieve department goals and objectives.

Qualifications: 8 years of experience preferred in financial analysis, financial planning, accounting, and/or budgeting.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and related analytical tools.

Strong knowledge of financial and operational systems.

Expertise in planning, budgeting, forecasting, and producing management information for decision-making in a complex environment.

Experience working with the product development lifecycle.

Experience with analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
