This position requires collaborating with physicians and other medical providers by providing expert care and service for fertility treatments. 

We currently have an opening for a full-time Embryology Lab Manager t to work in our fast-paced, high-volume, Embryology Lab located at our Westshore, Florida office. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, daytime hours. Occasional holidays and weekends are required. 

How You’ll Contribute:

We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Embryologist is responsible for:

  • Monitors monthly expenses and forecasts when expenses will vary significantly from budget
  • Submits reports to justify budget variances in a timely fashion
  • Participates in the development of the annual operating budget
  • Anticipates equipment and growth needs and submits Capital Budget requests in conjunction with the annual budgeting process
  • Gives accurate input for monthly Forecasting meetings on volume and expenses
  • Authorizes bill payments correctly using allocation forms
  • Process reimbursement requests and expense reports in a timely fashion, understand signature authority policies.
  • Develop systems to monitor Patient volume to assure compliance with revenue targets.
  • Develops a comprehensive staffing plan for the department/ area that complies with a budget.
  • Assures staffing coverage in accordance with the staffing plan.
  • Approves requests for time off in accordance with staffing plan and applicable organizational policies
  • Develops coverage plan for time off and vacation to assure the availability of staff to provide patient care.
  • Maintain competency in operations and cover for staff as appropriate when workload or staff vacancies require.
  • Monitors and approves payroll hours in accordance with applicable policies and labor standards.
  • Clear, professional and timely communication with staff, physicians, and patients
  • Participate in Continuing Technical Improvement exercises.
  • Maintain technical proficiency in routine laboratory procedures.
  • Prepare staff work schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of routine and ad hoc analyses of data relating to the performance of the laboratory and individual technologists and to specific research projects.
  • Develop the proficiency necessary for oversight of technical staff in their use of Artworks and Vision.
  • Participate in initial training and authorization of new staff, the CTI program, and assure that specific priorities within the CTI program are congruent with the performance of individual technologists.
  • Assist in the management of the import and export of cryopreserved embryos and sperm and provide the data necessary to generate invoices for these services.
  • Reviews and oversees the cryopreservation program. Provide technical advice to lab staff.

What You’ll Bring:

• Must meet the CLIA requirements of education and experience for General Supervisor or Technical Supervisor

• Must be thoroughly familiar with Laboratory Operations Manual.

• Must demonstrate skills and aptitude appropriate to the position.

• Must demonstrate a good work ethic and commitment to participate in appropriate programs of continuing education and professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge in the laboratory specialty.

• Must have ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.

• Must have knowledge of office procedure and office machines (i.e. computer, fax, copier, etc.).

• Must have ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Must have ability to communicate accurately and concisely.

• Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
