We recruit teammates from all backgrounds, experiences and perspectives because we know our diversity makes us stronger.Learn more at Terviva.ComOverview:As part of a diverse team, the Facilities and Maintenance manager will support core technical and greenhouse infrastructure, primarily in the Fort Pierce area and other locations as needed.Highly qualified candidates will have experience managing purchasing, with an emphasis on tree greenhouse supplies, irrigation, general construction materials, and parts and equipment.

Candidate will also have experience with equipment maintenance, basic knowledge of electrical and greenhouse environment controls, shipping & receiving, and related activities.

In addition, the role requires coordination of contractors for complex greenhouse expansion workflows, building contractors, utility companies and other entities providing services to Terviva.

The role will also have experience with working with engineers on site layout and design, general contracting skills and a strong background in Worker Safety/OSHA compliance.Terviva encourages novel approaches to problems without being constrained by conventional know-how.The Facilities and Maintenance manager has a direct and daily impact on a core Terviva value: namely: serving stakeholders with excellence and empathy.Job Responsibilities:Function as a member of the Terviva Florida Management teamDevelop and manage the Facilities Management budgetLead and perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on Florida facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other installed systemsLead the preventive maintenance and repair work on all field and farm equipmentOfficer in charge of all Terviva, Florida fleet managementLead facility infrastructure improvement and managementLead the Hurricane preparation and risk management effortsSupervise and manage day to day functions for in-house maintenance staffVital team member in the safety committeeConduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.RequirementsEducation, Skills, Competencies & ExperienceHigh school diploma with 10 years of relevant work experienceCollege or University degree with 5 years of relevant work experienceGood working knowledge of Microsoft suiteGeneral maintenance experience in horticulture greenhouse design and constructionIrrigation system design and installationGreenhouse environmental controls installation and maintenanceExperience installing and maintaining nursery and production equipmentKnowledge of greenhouse/nursery workflow and production methodsExperience in bidding out projects and submitting basic financial comparisonsCan manage small groups of people in diverse tasksExperience implementing and maintaining worker safety policies, training and programs.Deep experience in purchasing and a proven track record of managing costs within assigned budgets.Excellent project management and communication skills.Willingness to periodically work long hours when required by project deadlines.Ability to work independently; self-motivated and self-directed.Spanish language skills are not required but are a plusBenefitsWorking at Terviva offers you:The opportunity to make a difference in a fast-growing, mission-driven company that intends to make an impact on sustainability, climate change and inequality by partnering with farmers to plant millions of trees to feed billions of people!Competitive annual salary, commensurate with experience.
